Born:
Ross Landry was born and raised in Trenton, Pictou County Nova Scotia.
Education:
Ross Landry attended Trenton High School, the Atlantic Police Academy and the RCMP Academy. Ross’s university studies took him across Canada. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology/Native Studies from the University of Manitoba; a Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina; and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Ottawa. Minister Landry is also a Registered Practitioner in Dispute Resolution from the Canadian International Institution of Applied Negotiation. He also has three certificates in Advanced Mediation and Negotiation from Harvard Law School.
Employment:
Ross was employed with the Sydney and New Glasgow/Trenton Police Services and then went on to be an RCMP officer for 34 years. As an RCMP officer, Ross developed and delivered national and international training courses for the Proceeds of Crime Branch.

Ross has been a member of many boards and groups including the Pictou County United Way, the Bikeways Project and the Pictou County Unites Transportation Committee. Ross is an avid cyclist and in-line skater, he enjoys kayaking, hiking and playing hockey.Currently Ross is volunteering at the YMCA, he instructs a spinning class on Monday afternoons from noon to 1 pm in New Glasgow and Saturdays in Pictou.
Political Career:
Ross was elected to the Legislative Assembly in 2009. In June of 2009, He was sworn in as Minister of Justice and Attorney General.
Ross and his wife, Dianne have three adult children and one granddaughter.
