New Glasgow
New Glasgow is a beautiful riverside town of 9,455 residents. The town was founded by Scottish settlers in 1784 and was named after Glasgow Scotland. It is situated on the banks of the East River of Pictou, which flows into Pictou Harbor, a sub-basin of the Northumberland Strait. New Glasgow is located in the heart of Pictou County, which offers an appealing way of life. Its people have a generosity of spirit, a commitment to excellence and a vision that enriches the community. Stellarton
The Town of Stellarton is a thriving community of 4,700 residents and situated on the East River. Stellarton is proud of its Scottish roots and its history of coal mining and railways. Stellarton coal mining was the life of the community from 1827 until the 1950’s at which time a railway was built to transport the coal. It was the first to use standard gauge and iron rails in Canada.  Canada's oldest locomotive, the Samson, along with the Albion is still housed here in the Museum of Industry, one of the largest museums in Atlantic Canada. Stellarton is an excellent place to live and work .It has some of the best recreation facilities in Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Community College the Pictou Campus is located in Stellarton. The Canadian grocery chain Sobeys is based out of Stellarton, and its corporate offices and grocery subsidiaries provides a fair percentage of the town's employment. Also Stellarton is unique for its painted fire hydrants, each adorned with a costumed representative of a town inhabitant or profession. Trenton
Trenton has a population of 2741 that is rich in sports and community spirit. It boosts a beautiful pristine 555 acre park, with walking trails, hiking/cross country ski trails, 3 stocked lakes, an outdoor amphitheater and large pool. Trenton is a small town with a lot to offer. Trenton is known as the birth place of steel; Trenton manufacture railway cars throughout the entire 20th century. Presently the Trenton Works facility is undergoing a $60 million conversion to produce components for wind turbines in a partnership between South Korean industrial conglomerate Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DMSE) and the government of Nova Scotia. The Trenton Forge adjacent to Daewoo dates back to the 1870’s and operates one of the largest forges in the world.
